Contributions

In June 2025, the OGC invited organizations from around the world to contribute to the Spatial Data Infrastructure Modernization Project 2025-26. This Call for Contributions presented a unique opportunity to research architectures, standards, and emerging technologies, and to demonstrate what works and can serve as a model, providing a path for the future of SDI.

We were excited to receive more than 20 contributions from academia, government, and the private sector representing OGC member organizations across Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, all demonstrating their approach towards this effort.

Examples include functioning SDIs in use by specific communities and innovative approaches to technology and governance, visions of what a national SDI might look like, and innovative ways to interact with SDI – to name a few.

In the coming weeks, we will continue sharing these contributions – but we invite you now to review some of the initial submissions:
